Wat?

The European Commission invites you to join a “Meeting of Minds”, where we will take a fresh look at innovating smarter new build and retro-fit home environments, with a view to empowering an ageing population to live healthier, more meaningful, connected lives with dignity and autonomy.  Participants of this brainstorm will inform the development of a European Reference Framework for age-friendly housing.

Explore the benefits of a Europe wide approach
Europe is experiencing a demographic shift to a majority older population.  At present, 75 % of European housing stock is not considered to be age-friendly.  Over the last decade, the Commission together with Member States has invested in numerous research and innovation projects to address this challenge.  These projects are faced with major barriers when meeting fragmented market forces.  It's therefore time to join forces and explore the benefits of a Europe wide approach.

We invite you to a European Brainstorm
During this one-day event we’ll hear from experts with fresh views on the topic, coming from academia, government, user groups and the industry on how they envision the future. Afterwards, we’ll spend time working our way through several themes to come up with real-life solutions. At the end of the day, we would like to wrap up with a clear guidance towards the creation of a European Framework.
